SEARCH FOR SUSPECT AFTER BOY STABBED IN CITY CENTRE

A search is under way for a suspect after a boy was stabbed in Bristol city centre.

The victim, who police believe to be under 16, was attacked near Cabot Circus on Thursday evening and taken to hospital.

A 999 call was made at about 19:40 BST, with police officers immediately attending the scene near the junction of The Horsefair, Hanover Court and Concorde Street.

The suspect, who police are still looking for, was reported to have been part of a small group of young people who fled after the assault.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The location of the stabbing is close to a McDonald's restaurant where a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in February. In May, a man was left in a critical condition after another stabbing in the same area.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed what happened to contact them.
