FIREFIGHTERS DEALING WITH HOSPITAL "CHEMICAL LEAK"

A decontamination area has been set up at a hospital following what a fire service has described as a "chemical leak".

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had been called to Hemel Hempstead Hospital, in Hillfield Road, alongside other emergency services.

In a post in social media at 11:37 BST on Monday, it said: "We are currently in attendance at Hemel Hempstead Hospital following a chemical leak.

"People have been evacuated from the immediate scene and a decontamination area has been established while investigations continue."

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been approached for comment.
