DOE WARNS PUBLIC OF NAME-DROPPING INDIVIDUAL ASKING FOR MONEY
The Department of Energy (DOE) on Sunday warned the public of an individual asking for money by name-dropping the name of Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla.
In a report by Mao dela Cruz on Super Radyo dzBB, the DOE cautioned the public of the unauthorized use of the names of its officials in asking for money in exchange for programs and services.This after the department received reports of a certain John Rick Salcedo who sends messages via a mobile number and is reportedly using the name of Sec. Lotilla to collect money from energy service companies.
The DOE advised the public, particularly industry participants, that this practice is prohibited by Energy Sec. Raphael Lotilla and that they should report it to the DOE immediately at 8-479-2900 or send an e-mail to [email protected].
The department reiterated that it strictly abides by the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees that prohibits anyone in the DOE to ask for money and that they face criminal charges if they do.
Meanwhile, the Taguig City government warned the public of dealing with fixers and to be careful with face documents.
In a dzBB report, an advisory was issued after the LGU received reports that several individuals are claiming to be city hall employees offering their services to obtain permits and clearances.
The LGU added the said fixers are in no way affiliated with the Taguig LGU. Official city hall employees are always required to wear proper an ID card and possess a mission order that specifies their purpose in the premises.
It also advised that all financial transactions are only made directly via the city treasurer’s office which issues an official receipt.
