THREE MEN JAILED OVER GANG SHOOTING IN HACKNEY

Three men have been jailed over a gang shooting in an east London nightclub, allegedly carried out by another man who died before he could stand trial.

Brandon Malutshi, 25, survived after being shot in both legs during the attack in Hackney in August 2022.

At the Old Bailey on Friday, Judge Simon Mayo KC sentenced Shemiah Bell, 32, to 10 years' imprisonment and Marcus Pottinger, 31, to nine years.

Connel Bamgboye, 29, was jailed for five years and six months.

Bell and Pottinger were found guilty of wounding with intent in February following a trial.

All three men were found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The shooting was said to have been sparked by a rivalry between gangs from Brixton Hill and the Wandsworth Road area - with which the victim was affiliated.

The alleged gunman cannot be identified for legal reasons.
