DOG SWINGING VIDEO INVESTIGATED BY POLICE

Police are investigating an allegation of animal cruelty after a video emerged of a girl appearing to swing a dog in circles by its collar.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening in Harford Park, Norwich, and was first reported by the Norwich Evening News.

In the video, shared on social media, a girl was seen appearing to spin the dog before letting go of its collar.

Norfolk Police said it was working closely with the RSPCA.

"We were contacted by a member of the public on Tuesday evening reporting an incident of animal cruelty," a spokeswoman said.

"Officers have spoken to those involved and seen the dog – which was not injured - and continue to investigate the incident."

Anyone with information was urged to get in touch with police.
