CORDON LIFTED AFTER EXPLOSIVES TEAM MAKE AREA SAFE

A 100m (328ft) cordon has been lifted around a property and roads reopened after explosives experts made the area safe, police said.

The cordon was put in place on Stourport Road in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, after police were called to an address on Saturday evening and said a "number of suspicious items" were discovered.

A number of residents were evacuated and were away from their homes overnight.

It is unclear what was found, although West Mercia Police said an Explosives Ordnance Disposal team were called in.

It said officers would remain "as we ensure the area remains safe and continue with our searches".

The force previously said a 51-year-old man had been arrested and no-one else was wanted in connection with the incident.
