BOY, 13, ARRESTED AFTER TEEN STABBED IN CITY CENTRE

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm after another teenage boy was stabbed in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to a violent disorder near Cabot Circus at about 19:40 BST on Thursday.

The boy, also aged 13, was injured in the incident and remains in hospital in a stable condition which is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Insp Tom Gent said: "We know this incident will have caused upset and concern and we want to reassure our communities that we’re carrying out a full and thorough investigation, with significant progress already being made."

'Additional patrols'

“We’re working closely with our partner agencies to ensure all necessary safeguarding is in place and additional patrols were carried out over the weekend," he added.

He said anyone with any ongoing worries as a result of what happened are encouraged to speak to officers.

Those with information or relevant footage that could aid the investigation are urged to contact police.

The arrested boy is currently on bail, with conditions not to contact named individuals and not to go to the Cabot Circus area.
