ARMED POLICE SEEN IN HOSPITAL AFTER STABBING

Armed police officers were seen in a hospital's emergency department following a stabbing in Reading.

Police were called to Audley Street near the town centre just before 20:00 BST on Tuesday.

A man in his 30s was rushed to Royal Berkshire Hospital with stab wounds, Thames Valley Police said.

A 33-year-old man from Southall, Ealing, was arrested in connection with the incident.

Police will remain at the scene while an investigation takes place.

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust confirmed officers had been at the hospital's A&E.
