SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF MAKATI ORDERS SUSPENSION OF VILLAGE EXEC

MANILA, Philippines — The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Makati passed a resolution that ordered the suspension of Barangay Magallanes chairperson Jose Mari Alzona.

According to the resolution, two complainants filed complaints on separate dates which accused Alzona of alleged abuse of authority.

The two cases were then consolidated, while the cases were heard on February 21.

“Whereas, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, after thorough scrutiny of the Committee’s Consolidated Recommendation, strongly holds that there is sufficient evidence to penalize Respondent Alzona with a suspension of twelve (12) months, thereby adopting in toto the abovementioned Recommendation,” the resolution read.

The resolution, which was approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod on June 5.

As of writing, Inquirer.net has reached out to the side of Alzona for a comment but has yet to receive a response.
