PHILIPPINES’ SUPRANATIONAL BETS MAKE WAVES IN POLAND

The Philippines’ delegates to the Miss Supranational and Mister Supranational contests, Alethea Ambrosio and Brandon Espiritu, respectively, have been making waves in Poland at the homestretch of the twin tilts concluding days apart from each other.

The Filipino Supranational duo figured in the leaderboard of both the Miss Supranational and Mister Supranational competitions based on votes made online through the official voting platforms.

Both Ambrosio and Espiritu have also topped the “Supra Model of the Year” contest for the Asia and Oceania region in both the Miss and Mister divisions, while the Filipino hunk has emerged as one of the three top delegates in the “Mister Influencer” challenge.

Ambrosio and Espiritu won The Miss Philippines and the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide titles, respectively, at the twin staging of the national searches in October last year. But back then, their appointment as the country’s delegates to the Miss and Mister Supranational contests have not been officially announced.

The two competitions’ organizer, Empire Philippines, announced in February the respective international assignments of top finishers in both the male and female contests, and Ambrosio and Espiritu received their official titles as Miss Supranational Philippines and Mister Pilipinas Supranational, respectively.

Ambrosio will try to become the second Filipino woman to be crowned Miss Supranational, following Mutya Johanna Datul’s victory in 2013, while Espiritu is aiming for the Philippines’ first win in Mister Supranational.

Last year’s Miss Supranational bet, Pauline Amelinkx, came so close to winning the title when she finished as first runner-up. And while all the Filipino representatives in Mister Supranational have placed in the semifinals, no one has ever advance beyond the Top 20.

The 2024 Mister Supranational competition will conclude on July 4 (July 5 in Manila), where Ivan Alvarez’s successor will be chosen. Meanwhile, reigning Miss Supranational Andrea Aguilera will crown her successor who will be chosen at the final competition on July 6 (July 7 in Manila).
