GOOD SAMARITAN IS BEATEN TO DEATH TRYING TO BREAK UP A FIGHT

A father-of-two was beaten to death in the car park of a Top Golf when he tried to break up a fight.

Dahal Umesh, 41, died in hospital on Tuesday morning after fighting for life since the beating by at least two people on Saturday night.

He was at a concert with other members of the Nepali community in Nashville when an argument erupted on the lower level of driving range's building.

Dozens of people flooded the car park outside where the men involved in he dispute planned to settle their differences, and Umesh tried to break it up.

Instead, he was punched and fell down, hitting his head on the concrete ground, before he was kicked in the head, police said.

Bishal Rai, 26, was identified as the man who allegedly kicked Umesh in the head and he was arrested on Monday night at his home in Antioch, Nashville.

He was charged with aggravated assault while Umesh was still fighting for life.

'That charge will be upgraded to criminal homicide as the result of Umesh's death,' police said. 

'A judicial commissioner ordered that Rai be held without bond pending a hearing.'

Umesh was the father of two young girls and married to Damanta Kafley Dahal, 44, who is originally from Jhapa in Nepal. 

Police were still trying to identify other people involved in the beating who could also face charges.
