CHEMICAL LEAK SPARKS EMERGENCY RESPONSE AS EXCLUSION ZONE IS SET UP

An exclusion zone has been set up over fears three people came into contact with a  white powder substance.

Emergency services were called to the site on Lavarack Avenue at Eagle Farm, in Brisbane, at 11.30am on Tuesday. 

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services revealed five scientific units had been sent to test an unknown substance leaking from a shipping container.

A 50m exclusion zone has been set up around the container out of precaution. 

'We are assessing three people that have come in contact with some form of substance,' a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said.

'There are no signs and symptoms of concern at this stage.'
