ARIZONA MOTHER VANISHES AFTER GOING OUT FOR A JOG AND A SWIM

An Arizona mother is missing after she vanished while out for a jog and a swim, with cops arresting her husband on suspicion of assault.

Kelly Paduchowski, 45, was reported as a missing person at 7.30pm on June 30 after she went to exercise at the Campbell Mesa Loop Trails during the day.

The Flagstaff Police Department issued a missing person alert and noted that her white Mazda CX-5 was last seen near the loop-shaped park.

After a day of search and interviews, authorities took Kelly’s husband, Daniel Paduchowski, 58, into custody and charged him with aggravated assault. Officers did not provide any details of the arrest or specify whether the charge is related to her disappearance or a past incident.

Officials also said that the five foot eight blonde woman was last seen wearing black shorts, a gray shirt and white running shoes.

In collaboration with the Coconino County Sheriff's Office as well as assistance from an Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter, a search and rescue operation on foot and horseback was launched throughout the hiking area and near her Flagstaff residence.

'Since that time, officers with the Flagstaff Police Department in conjunction with the Coconino County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue have coordinated efforts to find and locate Kelly,' Flagstaff deputies said on a Facebook post.

'During the course of the investigation the Flagstaff Police Department interviewed family members, witnesses and processed evidence resulting in the arrest of Kelly’s husband, the statement read.

Officials also noted that Kelly has still not been found and it is unclear whether she is alive.

'The investigation is ongoing and the number one priority is to locate Kelly.'

Kelly, who recently graduated the Metropolitan State College, married Daniel in 2013 and gave birth to her son in 2014.

The accused is an architect who moved to Flagstaff from Sedona over a decade ago and runs a full-service architecture firm specializing in sustainable and energy-efficient homes known as Proportion & Scale Architects.

The Campbell Mesa Trails are a popular trail system surrounded by large stands of old-growth ponderosa pine and Gambel oak.

The system includes five loops with the longest being the 5.7-mile Campbell Mesa Loop swings around the northern and eastern perimeter of the mesa.

These various loops offer a wide variety of seasonal wildflowers, many examples of local birdlife, and frequent wildlife sightings.

Officials have asked anyone with information about Kelly to contact them.
