TRILLANES FILES PLUNDER RAPS VS DUTERTE, GO

(UPDATE) MANILA, Philippines — Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV filed a case against former president Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Christopher Go at the Department of Justice this Friday, accusing them of embezzling a total of 6.6 billion from government projects.

Trillanes filed a case for plunder, as prohibited by Republic Act 7080, also known as "The Anti-Plunder Act" ;graft and corruption, in violation of Republic Act 3019, also known as 'The Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act' and culpable violation of the 1987 Constitution.

"I filed a plunder case this morning against former president Duterte and Sen. Bong Go. This pertains to government projects totaling P6.6 billion that benefited Go's father and brother," Trillanes said in Filipino.

Trillanes highlighted all that P6.6. billion was given to Go's father and half-brother.

Republic Act 7080 defines plunder as a public official amassing at least P50 million through a series of criminal acts, and such theft is a severe crime, disqualifying the perpetrator from holding public office.

The former senator remarked that the case has a "high chance" of winning.
