PH LOGS 1,537 NEW COVID-19 CASES

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 1,537 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, pushing active cases to 15,418.

This was the second straight day of increasing new cases from 14,838 on Wednesday, according to GMA Integrated News Research.

Among the regions with the highest number of new cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 7,332, followed by Calabarzon with 4,820, Central Luzon with 2,376, Western Visayas with 1,598, and the Bicol Region with 867.

Among the cities and provinces, Quezon City had the most new cases in the last 14 days with 1,715, followed by Cavite with 1,593, Rizal with 1,107, Laguna with 1,057, and Bulacan with 1,006.

The country’s recovery tally is now at 4,144,351, while the death toll remains at 66,466, according to the DOH.

Meanwhile, DOH said COVID-19 bed occupancy is 22%, with 5,598 occupied and 19,863 vacant.

A total of 7,466 individuals were tested, while 285 testing labs submitted data on Wednesday. —Sherylin Untalan/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
