OCTA: COVID-19 POSITIVITY RATE IN NCR DOWN TO ‘MODERATE’ 19.9%

The COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) went down to a “moderate” level on Tuesday at 19.9%, data by the independent monitoring group OCTA Research showed on Thursday.

OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said that NCR’s seven-day testing positivity rate—or the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested—decreased from a “high” risk of 24.4% on May 23, to 19.9% on May 30.

Hospital beds occupied due to COVID-19 patients also remained “low” level, he added.

“COVID-19 hospital beds occupied decreased slightly over the same period, and remaining at low occupancy,” David said on Twitter.

The entire Philippines on Wednesday logged 1,279 new COVID-19 cases, with the active caseload at 14,838. —NB, GMA Integrated News
