MORE SHABU FOUND FLOATING IN ILOCOS SUR

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Another four packs of shabu were found by fishermen in the waters off Ilocos Sur on Sunday and Monday.

Of the packages, two were found floating along the coastal waters of Barangay Puro in Magsingal town and Villamar in Caoayan.

Two others were recovered on Sunday in Barangay San Julian in Magsingal and Barangay Mantana in Sta. Cruz.

Authorities said the packages bore Chinese markings similar to the 79 packs recovered since Monday last week.

The provincial government will give P50,000 to each fisherman who surrendered the packs of shabu, according to Ilocos board member Efren Rafanan.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will also give P5,000 for every pack of shabu recovered.

The provincial police has created a special investigation task group to conduct a deeper probe into the successive recovery of shabu.

Col. Darnell Dulnuan of the Ilocos Sur police will lead the task force, which will be composed of members of the PDEA, Philippine Coast Guard, Maritime Police, the PNP’s Philippine Drug Enforcement Group and forensics expert.

The latest recovery brought to 83 the number of sacks of shabu recovered in the province’s coastal waters.
