MARCOS URGES ZAMBOANGA, NEIGHBORING TOWNS TO PREPARE FOR RAINY SEASON

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Thursday called on the local government of Zamboanga and neighboring areas to prepare for the rainy season, saying that the country is experiencing extreme weather due to climate change.

Marcos led the distribution of assistance to farmers, fisherfolk, and families in a program at the Universidad de Zamboanga Summit Center in Barangay Tetuan, Zamboanga City.

(The entire world is facing the challenge brought by climate change. We are experiencing extreme weather. We are encountering too much heat and in the next months, we will experience strong rains.)

(Due to that, I am calling on the local government of Zamboanga and the neighboring towns to prepare.)

Marcos ordered the creation of programs that would help their constituents.

(Identify the needs of our constituents and create programs that will help our kababayans.)

Marcos distributed financial aid amounting to P10,000 for beneficiaries from Region 9.

The President also extended monetary support totaling around P58 million to the City of Zamboanga and the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga Sibugay.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
