MARCOS REJECTS CIRCULAR ON INCREASING FINES FOR ILLEGAL PARKING

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said he has rejected the circular of the Metro Manila Council which calls for an increase in penalties for illegally parked vehicles.

(So we could continue the good service of the government, I did not allow the Joint Traffic Circular No. 01 of the Metro Manila Council which contains a provision increasing the fines against illegal parking from P1,000 to P4,000.)

''While I understand the intention behind the proposal, I’ve decided to prioritize discipline over penalties. Ang Bagong Pilipino ay disiplinado. By focusing on individual responsibility we can create long lasting solutions to our traffic challenge,'' he added. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
