MAN DIES FROM ELECTROCUTION AT NEIGHBOR'S WAKE

Just a few days before Father's Day, a 43-year-old man died after he was electrocuted while trying to fix a wire at a neighbor's house where a wake was being held in Tigaon, Camarines Sur.

Rio Basquiña, the victim's live-in partner, recalled finding her partner dead still holding the wire.

"Mayo na po talaga, nakatukaw lang po siya duman sa [daga] tapos kapot niya itong wire," Basquiña said.

The victim was reportedly trying to light an area at his neighbor’s house for the attendees of the wake.

"Su wire po kapot niya tapos may ilaw po siya duman na ilalaag gayod," Basquiña said.

Authorities from Tigaon Municipal Police Station suspect that the victim touched an exposed live wire accidentally.

Authorities remind everyone to seek assistance from licensed electricians for electrical matters to prevent similar incidents.

"Dae po kita basta-basta maghiro ning mga bagay, lalo yan po mga electrical wiring, kung dae man po kita awtorisado; Dahil pwede po yan magkawsa na madistroso po [sa] satuyang buhay or pati po an satuyang mga pagsasadiri," PSSG. Joseph Carullo from the Tigaon Municipal Police Station (MPS), said.
