MAMBA TO APPEAL DISQUALIFICATION

MANILA, Philippines: Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba said he would appeal his disqualification from office by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) first division according to the province's Public Information Office (PIO).

It said Mamba and his legal team have five days to file their motion for reconsideration.

It said that Mamba will "continue to carry his duties as the province's governor, as long as there is no final decision."

Mamba was disqualified by the Comelec on Wednesday after he violated the Omnibus Election Code by releasing public funds for projects during a 45-day prohibition period before the 2022 national and local elections.
