'GUO FAMILY ABUSED PH'S LATE BIRTH REGISTRATION PROCESS'

MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Alice Guo's family allegedly abused the country's late birth registration process to claim Filipino citizenship falsely, a senator said on Wednesday.

Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian made this pronouncement after discovering that other members of the Guo family also used dual passports, Chinese and Filipino passports interchangeably in their travels.

"The NBI's role in this investigation is crucial. The evidence from the fingerprint matching of the NBI using the BoI records and the NBI biometric records clearly indicates that Guo Xiang Dian is Wesley Leal Guo," the senator said.

(NBI is the National Bureau of Investigation while BoI is the Bureau of Immigration.) "We also found that Guo Xiang Dian has a Chinese passport that will expire in 2025. He used both his Chinese and Filipino passports interchangeably from 2003 onwards.

"Guo Xiang Dian arrived in the Philippines in 1999, and his relationship with Lin Wen Yi and Guo Hua Ping further supports this. The fact that Wesley Leal Guo is an incorporator of CDAG Reality Corporation, where Alice Guo is the majority owner, is another piece of evidence that the Guo family abused the late registration process to claim Filipino citizenship falsely," Gatchalian said.

According to Gatchalian, the third Alice Guo should be investigated by the NBI to know the person's authenticity.

"However, this does not erase the fact that Alice Guo, who has the picture of Mayor Alice Guo, has fingerprints that match those of Guo Hua Ping, and therefore, they are the same and one person," he said.

Gatchalian said it was imperative to continue investigating the existence of the two other Alice Guos. This will help to determine their authenticity and clarify the situation, especially since there is only one birth certificate of Alice Guo in the PSA, which has irregularities such as multiple entries and conflicting information. –
