2 NABBED FOR KIDNAP ATTEMPT ON 6 KIDS IN PASIG CITY

Authorities rescued six minors from an attempted kidnapping by two suspects along the West Bank Road in Pasig City, Vonne Aquino reported in "24 Oras Weekend"  on Sunday.

Authorities said one victim, a 14-year-old, was lured by a suspect by an offer of milk tea.

The teenager had nine and 11-year-old siblings, said Barangay Rosario Violence Against Women and Children-Barangay Council on the Protection for Children Desk Officer Janet Galvez.

Galvez added that the suspects also kidnapped five and two-year-old children who were under the care of the teenager and another 14-year-old teenager who was the victim’s friend.

According to the National Capital Region  Police Office, the police on Friday night stopped a taxi at a checkpoint when they saw one of the victims.

The police discovered that the children only knew one of the suspects, but not the taxi driver.

Their parents also did not know of their whereabouts.

The victims' parents were called to get their children, who were brought to the barangay hall.

Meanwhile, the suspects are under the custody of the police. They are facing charges for violating the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
