MCCP LAUNCHES LARGEST CONTAINERIZED SHIP IN DOMESTIC TRADE

MCC Transport Philippines Inc. (MCCP)recently launched MV MCC Gigantes, the largest container ship for domestic trade. The 1,544 TEU vessel will boost cargo capacity and efficiency on existing routes while a new service to Bacolod and Iloilo is launched with another MCCP ship.

Not only is it the biggest container ship for local trade, but it's also built for efficiency and sustainability.

MCC Gigantes was designed to dive deeper. Unlike what its size might suggest, MCC Gigantes can navigate shallow ports thanks to a specially designed hull. This opens up more possibilities for vital cargo movement across the archipelago.

Some 192 temperature-controlled containers, perfect for fresh seafood or life-saving vaccines, journey with constant monitoring by both crew and an automated shore system. This ensures that precious cargo arrives perfectly chilled.

MCC Gigantes and its fleet mates MCC Batanes and MCC Palawan operate on low-sulfur fuel oil. The eco-friendly choice keeps waters cleaner, adhering to international regulations. MCCP takes sustainability seriously, implementing this policy even before it was mandatory domestically.

MCCP's commitment to progress is fueled by a powerful partnership between Sealand Maersk Asia Pte. Ltd., Mercantile Ocean Maritime Co (Fil) Inc. and 2GO Group Inc.
