MAN ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF MURDER RELEASED

A 75-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released by police without any further action.

An 80-year-old was declared dead at a property in Welland Court, Cheltenham, on Sunday.

Gloucestershire Police have been given extra time to question a 63-year-old man who was also arrested on suspicion of murder.

Officers are urging members of the public to come forward if they have any information.

Local resident Chris Hellens said armed police arrived at Welland Court on Sunday night.

"It's not the kind of place where that kind of thing happens - it's a quiet, retirement, residential area," he said.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place later.
