RED CROSS RECEIVES P60M DONATION FROM OKADA FOUNDATION TO BUILD NEW BLOOD CENTER IN CAVITE

OFFICIALS of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) national head office and its Cavite chapter were on hand recently to receive a donation from the Okada Foundation amounting to P60 million, which will fund the construction of a new building for the PRC Cavite Chapter in Vermosa Complex in Imus.

The soon-to-rise building, which sits on 859 sqm of property donated by Ayala Land Inc., will serve as the primary blood center in Cavite. It will provide critical health care to those in need.

The center will also serve as a facility for education and training of medical professionals in the field of transfusion medicine.

Among the services that will be available in PRC Vermosa are blood services (collection, testing and processing), 24/7 emergency service, First Aid & Emergency Training Center, Red Cross Youth program, social services, safety services and conduct of the disaster management services program.

Present during the donation turnover were PRC Cavite Chapter Treasurer Lucy Beltran, PRC Cavite Chapter Fund Generation Committee Chairman Myrna Fajardo-Ramos, PRC Secretary General Gwen Pang, PRC Cavite Chapter Chairman Gilbert Remulla, PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon, Okada Foundation Chairman James Lorenzana, Universal Entertainment Corp. President Hajime Tokuda, PRC Cavite Chapter Administrator Adel Castillo and Okada Manila Compliance Manager Neri Aquino.
